@Tio_Flacos just might be the next best thing that’s happened to Orange County since @tacomaria @xclusiverestaurant @Disneyland and the beaches. This second I stepped out of my car to walk in, I knew I was making all the right life decisions that day! The smell of the mesquite grilled meat lured me in to complete taco euphoria. Handmade tortillas, terrific not-watered-down salsas, smoky savory carne asada, super pleasant service! Can’t wait to go back...where was Tio Flacos when I lived in HB?! 😫

The search for the perfect taco is a neverending, always, everywhere lifelong pursuit. Are you with me? And so it went in the most outrageous, larger-than-life, experience-obsessed Dubai. We hit up @tulum_dubai at the foot of the @burjkhalifa. Superlatives fail in a place filled with wonder and awe. So it was fitting to add another seemingly impossible thing to Dubai’s endless list. Who would have thought we’d find grilled skirt steak costras on the other side of the world from costra-land in CDMX?!? Getting ingredients for tacos is no joke. Handmade tortillas. Limes. Avocados. Chiles. Ok Dubai. Ok! Needing a high-end taco fix with a breathtaking view of innovation on wild display? check out the impossible made possible. No surprise that we ordered on iPads. Duh. Unsolved mysteries. I love that @red_tacos’ owner and friend Jesus won’t tell me the secret cheese mixture for their birria quesatacos. The only way this keto version works so masterfully is that the mixture is *not* solely mozzarella. Otherwise it would be too soft to grab and dip in the consomé. And thank goodness! I’m guessing it’s Monterey Jack and/or Asadero. But 🤷🏽‍♂️. Keep me guessing…I don’t care because all I can think about it how big and delicious they are and who of my great friends can I share them with? Right @bubbapage? This was gooood. @tacoselpata delivered just what we needed. Of course, pastor but then they went and got all fancy on us and did a costra with Gouda and sirloin pastor. We weren’t one minute. Actually went loco for it. As evidenced by our group photo with our friends. 🤪
This is how we do in LA. The institution of @leostacostruck never disappoints. Especially at midnight. Who has NOT been here?? Al pastor on the trompo from here is really all you ever need in life. 🔥 100% VitaminT.
Been hearing recs all over the place and raves from @esdras8a. Finally was able to make the pilgrimage to Boyle Heights to experience these breakfast taco beauties. I just love seeing brilliance and commitment to the craft in @jonathan_madeforchefs. His @_macheen_ concept inside @milpagrille is on point! Expertly paired ingredients like longaniza filipina and chile verde with eggs and the right salsas. So freaking good! Washing it down with this special Jamaica concoction with raspberry purée, lime and mint from @cafecafemobilecoffee. This is the breakfast of champions! Every day por favor. (Ps. They do catering too and wowed all the guests with their Oaxacan mole enchiladas at this big deal event in LA we did together with @sandiablochurros. Ask @jonathan_madeforchefs for more details if you want bomb handmade Mexican food at your next event!)

Life, liberty and the pursuit of tacos! 🇺🇸 I’m convinced the Founding Fathers were driven to create a nation of freedoms that would allow for tacos everywhere. We all have the right to taco. 🌮🏃🏽‍♂️ God bless this beautiful country of ours and the melting pot that allows us so much richness!! And midnight taco runs to @tireshoptaqueria south of DTLA. “Bobby!!” Yesterday, I went to lunch with @bobbyahlander and that’s exactly how the cashier greeted him at Salt City burgers (I do eat food other than tacos every once in awhile). It was definitely a "Cheers" moment..."you wanna go where everybody knows your name." Totally felt like a VIP. "Bobby is the MAN!" That's what they made him feel. And by association, I felt that too! So simple. So personal. So human. What this does it create RAVING fans...and raving fans talk about your brand and share it with everyone! Like Bobby did with me. Isn't that what we all dream of??!? Reminded me of my experiences at @tacoselpecas. One of my favorite taco trucks in East LA —right in the spaghetti bowl where the 5, the 10 and the 60 freeways meet next to a car wash and usually police sirens going (anyone been there?). It’s just home sweet home. So I hadn’t been there in 6 months (a tragedy, I know) and I walked up to the window. Ernesto greeted me with a big smile. “Hey Scott! Where have you been for the past six months? Do you want your usual crispy al pastor meat with extra pineapple?” I was blown away. SO much to learn from this taco experience. Simple human interaction. He knew me (in the 2nd largest metropolitan area in America). He knew my name. What I ordered in the past (6 months ago!). Offered it up to me (even though it required extra work for his team). Genuinely cared about me having just the type of taco experience I wanted. And he wasn't even the owner! Which shows...this is the type of people they hire to create the type of elevated brand experience they want. Because they CARE. @Accenture's study showed the customers are 75% more likely to buy if the company remembers their name, their purchase history and gives recommendations. And Ernesto NAILED it! I just love this SO much! It's been transformative for how I do business. Still learning. Still growing but wow...I am DRIVEN to help create more of these magical, personalized, HUMANIZED moments. @smokedtaco_ fans please help me! I’m pretty sure this is the Fleeing Californian (that fried avocado!), the Money Muscle (teriyaki pulled pork with Fresno peppers was 💵 fo sho), Smoking Pastor (pulled pork with creamy chimichurri was on point) and I *think* the special Banh Mi with its carrots and cilantro. Am I remembering correctly? All I know is this is GOOD. Smokey meat goodness with deliciously paired veggies! Yes Utah County! Yes!! I’m fully on board with taco innovation in some fusion tacos — would be even better with some handmade tortillas!
